Interview experience for Dell Technical Support

When I came to know about Dell technical support job from my friends and also from monster, I thought let's go for it and try my level best to crack the interview process. Since Dell has outsourced its tech support work to Sutherland Global Services, I walked in to Sutherland office for the interview process.

Interview Process

1. HR Round
2. Aptitude Test
3. Telephonic Interview
4. Technical Aptitude
5. Final Ops Round

I was waiting in the cafeteria for the process to begin, after some time they called me for the first round that was HR round, interview with HR. I was not expecting any technical questions from HR, but I gave answer to all the questions. Some questions which HR asked me...

1. Tell me something about yourself ?
2. Why you want to do this Technical Support job ?
3. Tell me something about your family ?
4. Where do you stay ?
5. How you came to know about this job ?
6. What is BIOS ?
7. Full form of USB ?
8. What is HDMI ? 
9. Do you have any work experience ?
10. How many interviews you have attended before this ?
11. What is your salary expectations ?

The second round was Online aptitude test. Normal mathematical, English, logical questions and some situation based questions were asked. The test was quite easy but it was too lengthy and I had to answer them in limited time. 

After completing online aptitude test, there was telephonic interview round. I didn't even heard some questions because of low voice, but somehow I managed to communicate clearly. I was little nervous...because I couldn't answer some questions properly on telephone. Some of the questions which I answered are as follows :-

1. Tell me something about yourself ?
2. Why you should be hired today ?
3. What are your hobbies ?
4. What will you do for society once you succeed in life ?
5. Who is your inspiration model ?

Next round was Technical aptitude test. This was offline test and total 20 questions were asked. All the questions were related to computer hardware and some networking fundamentals.

Final round was Ops round that is, Operations Manager Round. In this a senior manager of Sutherland took my interview. First of all he informed that you have scored 15/20 in technical aptitude test, then he started asking questions to me.

Final round interview questions :-

1. How to enter into BIOS ?
2. Where can you find settings of your computer ?
3. What is Safe Mode ?
4. What is internet ?
5. How you will find IP address of your computer ?
6. How to find MAC address ?
7. If my Google Chrome is not working because of some virus, how will you resolve this issue ?
8. Which options is there in Windows 7 to uninstall any programs/software ?

I answered every questions properly expect the last one...I said "Add or Remove Programs " then sir asked me Are you sure ? I told yes sir...he told me to think again...I told yes sir, its Add or Remove Programs. It was like an argument between me and Sir but at last he told me the correct answer, its Programs and Features not Add or Remove Programs. 

After completing all the rounds, they told me to wait outside...I was waiting in the cafeteria again (like at the start of interview process). Oh...finally mam came and started asking me how was your interview..what questions sir asked...I told it was good and sir asked me some of the questions from technical test. She told me, "Congrats Vijay you are selected !!" 

15-20 people came for interview...only 3 got selected...I was one of them.
